Cold hardy and tolerant to a late-spring frost, the Contender Peach is better suited for late spring cold snaps. Flush with pink spring blossoms which attract bees, this very juicy freestone peach ripens in early July. Velvety orange and red skin with sweet, yellow flesh, the firm peaches are extremely tasty eating out of hand fresh from the tree. 
The Contender Peach is self pollinating, which means you will enjoy a crop when planted alone. However, crops will be greater when multiple trees are planted within 50 feet of each other.
